Created an intellectual center that will prepare a new generation of scholars to take ideas from concept to reality using 21st century technology. The guiding principle for the Center was to “design for innovation” providing students and faculty access to e-learning platforms in a student-centered environment. The technology approach will be adaptable to serve an increasingly diverse student community, pivotal in creating a new kind of academic center for the University.

Designed to be a formidable leader in addressing National Security challenges by fostering an ecosystem of government, industry and academic partners, the facility will house 86,000 SF of classroom, laboratory and research space for the School of Data Sciences, as well as 81,000 SF of innovation space, laboratories, and research space dedicated specifically for the National Security Collaboration Center.

In addition to housing offices for the Army Futures Command, the BCDC is planned to be used as a data collection point where information from experiments can be evaluated and where industry experts and researchers can meet and collaborate on emerging technologies.
